Epic Grammar, Spelling Fails That Make Us All Laugh

Updated: Jul 19, 2019

Let's have some fun with our final blog of 2016!

Anyone who has paid attention over the years to our Facebook page for Edit This has probably seen a few posts here and there with pictures of unfortunate misspellings or punctuation issues found in everyday life. Mind you, I'm not talking about little flubs. I'm talking about the obvious ones that are so funny they end up going viral on the internet.

We took a few of these pictures on our own, but most were found on the internet and sent to us by those who follow our page.

We posted them not to poke fun (OK, that's a lie ... but I'm sure you've done the same thing), but rather point out that everyone should be more careful before going to print.

Here are just a few of our favorites.

My wife snapped this one while standing in the parking lot of the newspaper I write for. I sincerely hope no one from our staff was the culprit of this mishap.

My wife found this gem on the internet. Notice the missing punctuation. Commas matter, folks, as this sentence suddenly took on an entirely new meaning.

Are you??? This is another internet beauty we found and decided to post because, well, misspellings have no age restrictions.

I snapped this picture while driving between Houston and Dallas with the family. We were stuck in traffic – ahhhh, good times!

Another internet beauty. I'm a newspaper guy at heart, and this is proof that misspellings can happen to the best of us.

There's a million more out there on the internet if you need a few more laughs. And don't hesitate to send them our way.

Thanks for reading!
