Challenging Yourself To Read More Books in 2023? I've Got One for You

Countless social media posts have popped up lately in my feed from friends and family who are challenging themselves and others to read more books in 2023.

The challenges I've seen suggest reading one book per month through the end of the year. Some want recommendations for books with shocking twists and unexpected endings. Others are more interested in motivational, business, or personal-growth books.

Regardless, it's clear everyone wants to curl up with a good old-fashioned book to engage their curiosity, spark their imagination, become immersed in a cool story, and learn a thing or two. And trust me when I say – I am here for all of it!!!

We should all be reading a minimum of 12 books a year! And since people are asking for recommendations, it's only fitting that I suggest my absolute favorite!

Granted, I'm a tad partial to this particular book since I wrote it. And naturally, I want everyone to read it, too! But my motives come from a good place. There are countless benefits of reading a good book, with a few of my favorites being:

* Vocabulary enhancements (learning new words is cool!)

* Improving focus and concentration

* Better writing skills

What better way to be a better writer than by reading Write Like You Mean It!?!

Write Like You Mean It is best described as a down-to-earth conversation about writing and writers. It is perfect for writers of all experience levels and professional pursuits and anyone who simply wants to write better.

With this book, I want to equip aspiring writers with trade secrets, versatile tools, actionable steps, and the inspiration they need to step out and write like they mean it!

But it's not just for writers!

If you're looking for personal development, this book can help.

If you've been through personal trauma and feel talking about your story might help others in a similar situation, this book is the perfect resource to help you start writing today!

If you're a parent who wants their kids to learn how to communicate better, grab a copy.

Just a few of the topics discussed in this book include:

  1. Overcoming your fear of writing

  2. What writer's block is trying to tell you

  3. The importance of active listening

  4. The art of quality storytelling

  5. How to become a successful freelancer

  6. Tips on how to write fiction and nonfiction

  7. How to be a better editor

  8. How to get published

  9. And so much more ...

The bottom line is that if you are looking for 12 books to read this year, Write Like You Mean It should definitely be part of that all-star pile of literary magic.

Who knows ... it may even entice you to write a book of your own.

And then you can tell all your friends to add it to their list ... just like I'm doing now.

How can you get your hands on Write Like You Mean It?

With Write Like You Mean It, I want to walk alongside other esteemed authors who have written about the wide, wonderful world of writing and how to be better at it. I want to earn my place at the proverbial writer's table with them and talk about the world of writing from my own experiences. I want to expand upon the conversations they started, speak to all writers, and share what I’ve learned on my journey to mastering my passion for the written word.
