A Special Thank You From Me To You

My blog post today isn't about writing and editing. I'm not here to share any knowledge or convince you to pick me when you can't find the right words. I'm also not concerned with SEO, backlinks, or anything else that could beef up potential new viewers.

This isn't Edit This®. This is Steve Gamel.

And all I want to do is share a special thank you – from me to you.

So let's jump right in.

Thank you for allowing me to chase my passion – to do something I truly enjoy. Many people don't get that chance in life, but I have.

So, thank you.

Thank you for giving me the flexibility to spend more time with my wife and kids – to be at Christian's baseball practices and games ... to be at Jackson's Taekwondo lessons ... to be there for Leslie when she needs me the most. I work A LOT of hours and think long and hard about every word I type. But I'm not working 18-hour days in a cubicle. I can set my own hours, deliver quality work to you, and still have a life away from my MacBook Pro.

So again, thank you!

Thank you for allowing me to sit and talk to you. To me, doing so always means so much more than a writer interviewing a source. It's two people getting to know each other – and listening. It's you being able to share who you are, what makes you and your business different, what keeps you up late at night, and so much more. And then, I have the honor of using my words and your voice to tell a really neat story in a way no one has done before.

Again, thank you!

Thank you for:

  • Encouraging me

  • Pushing me

  • Supporting me

  • Guiding me

  • Inspiring me

  • Making me smarter

  • Making me a better person

  • Helping me be better at my job

  • Putting up with me when I ask for votes every year for Best of Denton County

I won, by the way. :) So THANK YOU!

I will leave you with this. When I started this journey six years ago, I had no clue if it would work. I believed in myself, but there are a lot of things that we can't control in life. Starting a small business from scratch was, in my mind, one of those uncontrollable things. It was a huge leap. But here I am, and I genuinely believe I have only scratched the surface.

I have you to thank for that – over and over again!
