It just dawned on me today that there are only three more classes left for this year's Steve Gamel Writing Workshops Series. All seven classes up to this point have focused on teaching practical writing skills that can be put to use immediately.
Not to mention, we're having a lot of fun! My upcoming August class promises to be no different, so please set aside some time to attend—and bring a friend, too!
What: Steve Gamel Writing Workshops
Topic: Tips On How To Always Quote Someone Properly in an Article
When: Thursday, August 13, 2026 (6-7:30 p.m.)
Where: Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce
Cost: $59 per person
Thank you to our sponsor, PointBank.
You Can Quote Me On That!

If you've ever interviewed someone for any type of writing, chances are you've quoted them.
For instance, you're writing for a local newspaper and spoke to the star soccer player. Maybe you interviewed a doctor, business owner, or politician for a magazine feature. It's also possible that you need to quote someone for a blog post, employee spotlight, customer success story, website copy, etc.
Regardless of who it was or what it was for, you listened to their story, asked thoughtful questions, and took notes. But once it's time to write, how do you quote them correctly?
That's exactly what we'll cover in this workshop!
A few things we will cover:
How to capture quotes with confidence
How to quote according to AP Style
How to weave quotes into your writing
If it's possible to "clean up" quotes without changing meaning
Common mistakes that damage your credibility
And so much more ...
For now, these writing workshops are in-person events only. If you're interested in joining us, please don't wait until the last minute. The details to register are in the main image above, and the cost is $59 per person.
The cost covers light snacks, an excellent presentation, Q&A time, and networking. I will also have copies of my book available for purchase.
I can't wait to see you on August 13.
Thank you for reading!
