It's easy to assume I'm not a fan of ChatGPT or any generative AI tool. After all, I write for a living and enjoy being the guy people ask for help with blogs, books, website copy, etc. The truth is that AI isn't all that bad—though I do think it must be used responsibly.
My outspoken thoughts on all of this will be on full display when the Steve Gamel Writing Workshops series returns next month for another fun-filled and informative session.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, in Lewisville.
What: Steve Gamel Writing Workshops
Topic: A Writer's Thoughts on ChatGPT
When: Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 (6-7:30 p.m.)
Where: Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce
Cost: $59 per person

Use ChatGPT Responsibly for Content Writing
While I genuinely think ChatGPT is a wonderful tool, the reality is that it isn't always being used responsibly. More often than not, business owners, students, authors, and everyday people rely on it way too much—especially when it comes to producing written content.
If your content is for school, your business, or some other public-facing initiative, it’s important that what you write is authentic, catches people's attention (in the right way), caters to your unique messaging, sets you up for success, and, most importantly, comes from YOUR brain. ChatGPT does not have that human quality.
What we'll be covering:
Understanding AI limitations and concerns
The fine line between saving time and hurting your credibility
Why a "human touch" is so critical
If and when you use it, how to do so responsibly
Refining your prompt techniques
How to shape AI-assisted content
And so much more ...
If you want to learn how to incorporate ChatGPT and other generative AI tools into your writing processes while staying authentic, come to my workshop!
Why Attend Writing Workshops?

You can join any writing group on social media. But in my humble opinion, nothing beats connecting with like-minded people in person. If you live in or around Denton County, we are building a community of writers and writing enthusiasts right here in your own backyard.
This is your chance to meet people with the same interests as you, network, get feedback on what you've been writing, and learn a thing or two from someone who has been in the writing game for nearly three decades.
I've got plenty to share because I've always believed the worst thing any professional writer can do is spend decades perfecting their craft only to keep all those trade secrets, tips, tricks, and life hacks to themselves. We should educate and inspire the next generation, relying on our successes and failures to share what works, what doesn't, and how to steer others in the right direction. It's the reason I wrote my book and started these writing workshops.
For now, these writing workshops are in-person events only. The QR code to register is in the image above, and the cost is $59 per person. The cost covers light snacks, an excellent presentation, Q&A time, and networking.
I will also have copies of my book available for purchase.
Thank you for reading!
