Join Us for an Adult Spelling Bee, Benefiting Book Drive for Kids

The Book Drive for Kids Adult Spelling Bee is back, and so are the defending champs!
We are pleased to announce that Edit This® and Honest 1 Auto Care will co-sponsor Beauties and the Beast (Steve Gamel, Lois Kim, and Kristen Gramling) as they put last year's hard-fought title on the line against a talented slate of competitors.
This is the event's fourth year, and you should totally join us for another fun evening.
The popular charity event—slated for 6 p.m. on March 6 at Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville—has continued to win over the hearts of everyone in our community. All money raised goes toward supporting future free book fairs and other initiatives to get books into the hearts and homes of needy children.
The Real Winners Are Definitely the Kids!
Sure, we want to prove we are still the greatest spellers in all the land, but all trash talkin' aside, kids are the real reason all of us are here. That's why this event is so successful and will remain so for years to come. Book Drive for Kids is creating a culture of literacy by providing books to disadvantaged children for independent reading. There is no cost to the kids or their families, just an opportunity to read for pleasure and personal fulfillment.
Their reach extends beyond Dallas to places like Austin, Houston, and South Texas, thanks to active volunteers, support, donations, and grants from other entities.
The organization's website cited studies suggesting that independent readers become better readers, score higher on achievement tests across all subject areas, and have greater content knowledge than those who do not.
Sadly, many families consider it a luxury to purchase even one or two books.
The Adult Spelling Bee on March 6 is another opportunity to raise funds and awareness for this important cause. That is why I will absolutely do this again next year—and the year after that, and the year after that, and so on.

While the teams for this year's Adult Spelling Bee are almost set, you can join in on the fun and give to a great cause by purchasing individual tickets or an entire table at the event.
