It feels a bit unusual to write about myself in this way, but I'm genuinely honored and still processing it. On Friday, May 1, I was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce's 63rd Annual Awards Gala.

First and foremost, thank you!

I've been a member of this Chamber for eight years and have always enjoyed attending the gala. To me, it's not just a ceremony—it's a reminder of how many people work hard, build their businesses, and still find time to quietly serve and invest in their community.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that's a responsibility I don't take lightly, and being recognized for those efforts means a lot.

As I said in my acceptance speech, I should have joined the Chamber a heck of a lot sooner. People told me for years that I should join, but for one reason or another, I procrastinated. Once I did join, I felt like I had truly found my home. And there are many reasons why:

  1. Everyone was genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person.

  2. People wanted to see me succeed, and I wanted the same for them.

  3. It felt like family—not just networking contacts.

  4. I was instantly surrounded by people I could learn from.

  5. I was immediately given opportunities to help others grow.

  6. Relationships, relationships, relationships!

This is just a short list. I could go on and on. The bottom line, and I said this in my acceptance speech, you can go far on your own, but you can go farther with others. I have a thriving business, but more importantly, I've grown as a person and a professional.

I’ll carry this award with gratitude. More importantly, I’ll carry forward the same mindset that got me here in the first place: staying consistent, continuing to improve, building relationships, giving back, and focusing on the work that still needs to be done.

What most of our clients are quickly finding out is that while they value the importance of having consistent content, they don't always have the time to do it themselves. As a result, it never gets done. Even the ones who love to write and will make time for it, struggle when it comes to talking about themselves, their business, or their story ideas.

We are the local writer everyone needs because we can make that process easier.

We are passionate about what we do! This isn't just a business; it's our life's work. So thank you again for all your kind words and support. My family appreciates you, and we are truly shocked, humbled, grateful, and a little teary-eyed for the latest honor.
